There's a lot written about the subtle differences between a pair of men's derby shoes, brogue shoes and mens loafers. Frankly, unless you're a designer we don't think it matters what the dictionary definition of a style of shoe is. If it looks good, fits well and feels great, then it’s all good. We like to pair a loafer with stone or navy chinos and a button-up. Derby shoes are perfect for more formal moments, with suits or smart-ish trousers. Men's boat shoes have evolved from the yacht decks and are just as commonly found these days on the high street as they are on the promenade. You can still wear them with a polo shirt and a pair of cropped trousers, but it doesn't matter if the nearest stretch of water is hundreds of miles away.
